The NCBWR Board of Directors seek to develop sustainability between those with lived-experience who inform our work and the larger public that serve as our accountability team that will be transparent about decisions being made.
The Board of National Coalition of Black Women Rising is responsible for advising the mission and purpose of the organization. Its duties include participation in strategic planning and making policy decisions, then securing the financing for them and the monitoring of their execution. Members must be willing to bring key relationships and resources to the organization in the execution of the Founder's vision. Members must be willing to attend the requisite meetings, follow through on commitments, and participate fully in the decision-making process. The Board also presents the organization's image to the community and solicits its support in achieving National Coalition of Black Women Rising Inc’s goals. We expect our Board Members to sign up for a 2-year term re-electable with the consensus of the members providing compliance to board member responsibilities are met.
Dr. Eveangel H. Savage is the President & CEO of National Coalition of Black Women Rising with 30-years of experience in community engagement for prevention, intervention, and advocacy in the building of healthier communities. She is a Health & Human Services Educator, international award-winning, best-selling author of "Tear the Veil," a mental-health anthology expanding the voices of women's lived experience and their journey for well-being. Her research centers the use of technology in practice in peer-directed online community environments. She holds an A.S. in Education, B.S., Criminal Justice, M.S. Criminal Justice Theory, C.A.S., Substance Abuse Counseling, Ph.D., Health & Human Services. See more.
The Founder shall have final input and guidance, as the visionary. The President shall convene regularly scheduled Board meetings, shall preside or arrange for other members of the Executive Committee to preside in his/her absence.
Yolanda is a native of Greenville, NC. She is a proud alumna of UNC-Chapel Hill and obtained her Masters of Business of Administration from Meredith College in 2017. She has been in the financial services industry for over 7 years and has a passion for empowering the community through financial literacy. She enjoys giving back to the community by educating on the importance of planning and preparing for a successful financial future. Yolanda is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and serves as the Assistant Treasurer for the Greensboro Alumnae Chapter. The Treasurer shall make a report at quarterly Board meetings. Treasurer shall serve as Chair of the Finance Committee, work with the CEO in the preparation of the annual budget, help develop fundraising plans, keep currently informed of legal, regulatory and sector developments relating to the Board's financial responsibilities and make financial information available to Board members and the public.

The Secretary shall be responsible for keeping records of Board actions, including overseeing the taking of minutes at all Board meetings, sending out meeting announcements, distributing copies of minutes and the Agenda to each Board member, and assuring that corporate records are maintained.
